Surprise new Post Foodie PenPals!

Happy Friday everyone, how was your week? Mine was (& still is amazing)! Our Trip is over & my sister is gone back home :( , but the Gorgeous sun is Shining here on the Island & I have the Yummiest surprise post for you all!

Friday’s I’ve been trying to keep it pretty casual for posting~ mostly Reviews & such. But things are going to change for my End of the Month posts. I’ve joined an amazing & really fun group called the Foodie PenPals! Have you heard of them before? It’s a group (quite a large as I’ve come to learn), that connects with each other via Healthy Foods! We are paired off by Lindsay from The Lean Bean, & then have the fun task of sending our Foodie PenPal some of our Favorite, Local, Healthy Snack or Treats! Doesn’t that sound so fun & Yummy!!! If you are interested in this, email Lindsay at The Lean Bean for more info! There is a Canadian Group, American Group & one in the UK!

So, let’s get to the Yummy Food Treats right! My Sender of Yummy Treats this month was Jaime from Embracing Balance. She was just so kind to send me a kick~a** box of yummy goodies!!!! Let’s start with the 2 varieties of Pop~Chips (plain & salt n vinegar)…. Is it weird that I’ve NEVER tried Pop~Chips before? (I just heard a few of you gasp out loud)… Well, I have never tried these chips, but I will totally buy them again. AMAZING! How cool that Jaime sent me Salt n Vinegar, those are my ‘go to’ flavor, I Love them!!! Our families FAV drink is Kombucha, & Jaime sent me a can of Kombucha Wonder Drink in Traditional.

Loved it ~ Loved it ~ Loved it! The Denman Island Chocolate Bunnie & Camino Coconut Chocolate lasted about 17 seconds, that stuff is To~Die for. I have to consciously squeeze my eyes shut while passing it in the grocer. The Package of Hemp Nuts were super cool as were the little packets of Wheat Grass &  Greens that I threw into my smoothies! I have to admit that I did not get a chance to taste the Mary’s Organic love Cookies in Noatmeal, my boys saw them & splurged on our long car drive.

They promise they were delish tho!

The Jelly Bears were yummy, but I’m not as much of a fan of them as an adult, I really need to be ‘in the mood’ but when that happens look out cause I’ll eat every single Orange one~ haha :)

For my part of the deal, I send my Foodie PenPal parcel to a sweet heart named Carly. She’s not a blogger, but she is a blog~reader so that qualifies her! (cool right!) Carly is from Ontario so I thought I would send her some very local BC stuff. I sent her Kale Chips from the Cowichan Lake area, a Healthy Raw Seed Bar made right here on Salt Spring Island, some Denman Island Chocolate (seriously, this stuff is beyond amazing), & something else I’m sure…. This is what she has to say to me:

Tamara!

I got the package!! AH THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was so excited opening it! I basically just tore open the box!! haha
The first thing I ripped into were the Kale Chips… you’re right– to DIE FOR. I love the coconut in them! They are so different! I loved how you packaged all local things from BC. I would love to travel to BC…it is one of the top places I want to go to. You are so lucky!
I started reading your blog……………. (personal stuff ;) )
Thanks again for that package… it was sooo thoughtful of you!!!! :)

So….. are you intrigued? Will you contact Lyndsay about joining the Foodie PenPals? I hope you all like the Friday Reviews I’ve put up so far? Which do you like the best; Fun posts, Informative posts, Nutritional posts, Health posts, the ones with Recipes?

Have a great weekend!!!
