Get off the Blame Train & Take a Stand for what you Want

We all do it. Blaming someone, somewhere from sometime ago about something that, really, we should have at least some control over. I’m not talking about a bad hair cut or office politics, people being rude, fashion or the like. I’m talking about the day-to-day “matter~of~consequence” Health stuff that bothers us yet we do nothing about (except of course bitch & blame someone else for).

Do you know what I’m talking about?

My husband just watched a Documentary regarding Obesity in North America. He was telling me a bit about it when I felt myself turning Red in the Face. Phrases from the film went along these lines….

when we were cave men we needed to eat everything we saw for fear of never finding food again….

we are pre~programed from times gone by to store all the fat we can for a ‘rainy’ day….

it’s no wonder we’re all Obese, it’s not our fault….

Have you heard this sh*t before? This verbal diarrhea as they say…

This film was giving all people an excuse, no no, a VALID REASON as to why they were Obese. It was frustrating as hell to know that people out there now didn’t have to think for themselves because, as we are being told, we’re pre~programmed to eat & be this way….

Now, although I believe these sayings to have been true. They WERE true for us LONG LONG AGO. Now…. not so much. We have evolved ;) We are not Cave People. We are civilized people & many of us don’t exert much effort on a day-to-day basis (sadly our recommended exercise is now 30 minutes 3-4 times a week, & walking is considered exercise…. but that’s another rant for another time…..). We also eat fast food like it’s our last meal, & treat it like actual food. If we continue on this path we will eat ourselves into one of the Biggest Graves of all time. (that’s Literally, not figuratively).

I recently read an article by Daniel LaPonte that gave me some extra clarity in this. The post (here) talked about how often people Blamed their Parents for so many things that they still consciously make relevant in their lives. Things like what they can’t do, to what they won’t do or what their scared to do, & how some people never really start living their own lives the way they truly desire, until their (parents) death. Sad. But I understand.

It’s time people. Time to take a stand. In your LIFE. In your HEALTH. You are not Obese because your (very) distant relatives were Cave people who didn’t know where they’re next meal was coming from. You are Obese because of a host of other reasons. Reasons you can actually take a hold of & learn to control, manipulate & take power from to make you’re own.

During a grocery trip while the Olympics were on, I noticed these side~by~side tv’s playing in the coffee section. Can you see how this would be confusing to anyone!

I’m unaware of the name of the show on the Left, but I’ll tell you that the host was not a Healthy looking man. :(

If you are one of the Millions out there that is having issues with Blame, Guilt, Pride, Denial, Shame,& many others that are complicating your Health & Weight, there is help. Get help. But please stop looking for reasons, excuses, & people to blame or hide behind for the predicament that you’re in. It’s ok. It will be alright. Take a stand. Start with one step. The step of getting help.
