Hydration

Water

We all know that our bodies are made up primarily of Water. So it makes perfect sense that we should be drinking as much pure, clean, alkaline water as possible. The average Healthy person should drinkĀ  aprox. 2~4 liters of water a day; unfortunately, not many of us are Average or Healthy…. If you work out you need more water, if you drink coffee or soda you need more water, if it’s very hot or very dry where you live you need more water, if you are more stressed then normal you need more water!

In this day & age, it’s difficult to drink too much water (*although that can happen*). Basic rule of thumb here is ~when you feel thirsty, your body is usually already desperate for hydration. Don’t let it get to that point by making sure you drink an average of 2~4 litres a day (add some honey, lime, lemon, orange, watermelon or cucumber slices to liven it up if you need)!

Here are some “did you know” tips:

Mild Dehydration can cause your metabolism to slow down, headaches to appear, frustration to grow. In fact, when we become dehydrated, the first place that is affected is our Brains! Water will also do an amazing & important job of detoxing us on a daily basis! Most ‘hunger pangs’ we feel are actually our bodies way of crying out for water. Did you know that just a 5% drop in body fluids will cause a 20-30% loss of energy in most people?

Are bodies are so reliant on water because they are made up of so much water. Every single function depends on pure clean mineral rich alkaline water. In fact water makes up 75% of our total body weight! Did you know that our bones are 20% water, 70% of our Muscles are water, 90% of our lungs are water, & our blood is over 80% of water!

We need this stuff in us to live! Do your part. Drink up!
