What is it?

Avocado is a Fruit grown usually in one of three places: West India, Mexico or Guatemala. In North America the Mexican & Guatemalan ones are most prevalent. Avocados have a hard shell that turns soft when ripe, the inside is filled with a buttery smooth & creamy textured ‘meat’.

What’s in it?

Avocados are a great source of the Healthy Fat (Monounsaturated), it’s also a wonderful source of Potassium, Vitamin E, B & Fiber.

What does it do for us?

Avocados have been shown to lower Cholesterol.

Best way to buy it?

It is best to buy Avocados that are not completely ripe yet (unless you need them right away). Avoid over~ripe or rancid ones (too soft or mushy). Organic is not necessary.

Best way to use it?

 Use Avocados in soups, salads, sandwiches. You can mash it into a dip along with Tomatoes & Cilantro & Lemons for chips.
