What is it?

Cabbage comes from the same family as Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Kale, Turnips, Cauliflower & Rutabagas. Cabbage types include Red, Green & Savoy (ruffled leaf variety).

What’s in it?

Cabbage is full of Vitamin C, Potassium, Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, Biotin, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese.

What does it do for us?

Widely praised for it’s incredible Cancer Fighting properties (colon, prostate, lung, breast & others). Cabbage is high in Anti~oxidants & helps work on Live Detoxification. Cabbage (& it’s family members) work with the body to increase it’s anti~oxidant defences while increasing it’s ability to detox. Peptic Ulcers don’t stand much of a chance with fresh Cabbage Juice.

Best way to buy it?

If Organic pricing is a concern, Cabbage doesn’t need to be Organic! Due to it’s tight fitting leaves, it’s quite safe. Look for Cabbage without worm holes & flimsy brown leaves. The Cabbage head should be firm & shiny.

Best way to use it?

Before eating, peel back 2-3 leaves & wash if you like. Many ways of eating Cabbage include; Raw & Shredded, Pickled, Sauteed, Sauerkraut.

Special Notices:

Cut Cabbage loses it’s Vitamin C content dramatically. Use it within a few days if cut. Don’t buy Pre~cut Cabbage for the same reason.

Individuals with Thyroid issues who also have low Iodine levels should take care in not eating more then 3-4 servings a week.
