Cabbage (& it’s family members) work with the body to increase it’s anti~oxidant defences while increasing it’s ability to detox. Peptic Ulcers don’t stand much of a chance with fresh Cabbage Juice.
Best way to buy it?
If Organic pricing is a concern, Cabbage doesn’t need to be Organic! Due to it’s tight fitting leaves, it’s quite safe. Look for Cabbage without worm holes & flimsy brown leaves. The Cabbage head should be firm & shiny.
Best way to use it?
Before eating, peel back 2-3 leaves & wash if you like. Many ways of eating Cabbage include; Raw & Shredded, Pickled, Sauteed, Sauerkraut.
Cut Cabbage loses it’s Vitamin C content dramatically. Use it within a few days if cut. Don’t buy Pre~cut Cabbage for the same reason.
Individuals with Thyroid issues who also have low Iodine levels should take care in not eating more then 3-4 servings a week.
