What is it?

Cayenne comes from a fruit. It is typically Red but can come in Orange, Purple & Yellow. Paprika is a mild form of Cayenne.

What’s in it?

Cayenne has an abundance of Vitamin C, Calcium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorous, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, Zinc, B3B2, B1, Vitamin A, B6, & Vitamin E.

What does it do for us?

Cayenne has many health boosting properties. Due to its heating effect (inside & outside our bodies), it increases our Metabolism as well as increasing Fat burning. This heat is also said to help kill off parasites commonly found in Central America. Cayenne can also reduces pain (or more properly increases our tolerance to pain), it stimulates Digestion, & has the ability to Lower our Body Temperature (a popular benefit in Hot Climates). Cayenne has also shown that it can reduce blood cholesterol, decrease heart attack risks & stokes, as well as decreasing risk of ulcers.

Best way to buy it?

Organic is important with both Cayenne & Paprika. You can usually find it Ground or Dried. If using Fresh, remember to use gloves & never touch your eyes or other open membranes.

Best way to use it?

Cayenne goes well with any recipe. Choose your favorite one & start out slow until you build a tolerance to the heat & spice. (Cayenne ingredient Capsaicin, will over time build a tolerance for you). Add it to a coconut milk sauce over rice, mix it with beans & Vegetable, spice up some homemade Lemonade with a dash.

Due to the Oils, use Caution when breathing around the ground powder & use gloves when handling the Fresh or Dried Berry. Never touch eyes or other moist membranes or open wounds until your hands are thoroughly washed.
