Coriander & Cilantro
What is it?
Coriander is a Fresh Annual Herb, we can use both the leaves (Cilantro) & the seeds (Coriander). Coriander is known as both a Spice & an Herb. Cilantro more then Coriander has a strong following (as well as a strong group who dislike), it seems that you will either love it or hate it.
What’s in it?
Coriander & Cilantro have a good supply of Vitamin A, & K, as well as plenty of Vitamins B1, B2, C, E & Iron.
What does it do for us?
Cilantro & Coriander have a long history of Anti~Inflammatory properties. It’s been shown to lower cholesterol, help with Anxiety, be Anti~Microbal & Anti~Diabetic. It is also been shown to be helpful in removing Heavy Metals from the body, especially Mercury.
Best way to buy it?
Deep, Bright Green & Organic if possible, it’s quite easy to grow indoors actually. It can be found frozen, fresh, or dried (although dried is the least nutritious). If you buy a fresh stalk, place them in a vase like you would flowers to keep fresh.
Best way to use it?
Use Cilantro in place of Parsley or Basil, in Stir Fry’s, Soups, Stews, Sandwiches. If you are a lover of this Herb use it anywhere! Coriander Seeds can be used instead of Pepper in a mill, any food you’d like a Middle Eastern Flair is great!
